The Y/Project spring/summer 2023 fashion show, which you can watch in the video here, transmits a very outside-of-the-box vibe.
Glenn Martens, now the newest designer and creative director of Italian brand, Diesel, really outdid himself in his latest show for Y/Project. Collaborating for the second time with Jean Paul Gaultier, he totally wooed us with this collection.
If you are into non-traditional extremely extravagant denim then you will have your day made! To sum it up – total exploding creativity!
Oversized on the bottoms, including overlong ruched hems and generally wider legs, but definitely more fitted when it comes to tops. For her as well as for him.
Featuring faded blue and black washes, the denim itself is super soft and lightweight, exactly right for the warmer summer days. We also see a lot of patchwork like super creatively constructed (definitely!) denim maxi skirts and capes.
And – as we have come to expect from the brand – masses of deconstructions – absolutely a new area for RTW!
The only thing we do have our doubts about were those oversized and obviously uncomfortable boots with stiletto heels. But then again, what do we know – we’re all about denim š
One more thing we’ve noted were the leather belts – most of them were knotted and made to stand away from the body…. interesting, no? That same concept was also applied creating a line of custom jewelries including oversized bracelets, worn winded several times over the wrists, and necklaces.
