The Gucci Resort 2025 collection includes some really cool denim and definitely lots of leather.
The fashion show took place last month at the Tate Modern Tanks in London, one of London’s main symbols of design and creativity.
And – interestingly – this was something of a full-circle moment. It was there in London, at the Savoy to be precise, that it all began. A very young Guccio Gucci, then working as a doorman at the hotel in 1889, was inspired to create luxury leather goods for its distinguished clientele.
The collection saw a choreography of unexpected juxtapositions and sentimental modernity inspired by symbolic antithesis. “Rigor and extravagance, strength in delicacy, Englishness with an Italian accent. Echoes of inspirations, ideas of our experiences of a city and its culture expressed through the clothes we wear,” read the brand’s statement.
Some early favorites from the show included the daisy jeans, bow blouses, and sequin beaded fringes that glistered through the imposing venue, highlighting that sense of dichotomy that guides the collection. Finding the perfect spot where evening meets with everyday, Gucci’s latest collection is all about embracing duality until finding perfect harmony.
Gucci’s Creative Director, Sabato De Sarno, was all about honoring the origin of Gucci’s roots and impeccable style. “I owe a lot to this city, it has welcomed and listened to me. The same is true for Gucci, whose founder was inspired by his experience there. The House’s return is driven by a desire to be immersed in its distinctive essence, its creative driving force with its limitless capability to put together contrasts, make them converse, and find ways to coexist. Today we are here to celebrate that spirit.”
